Injured Mirror dancer Mo Lee Kai-yin will be able to eat a wider range of food in a week, after a hole in his throat is healed, however, he is still receiving five to six rehabilitation sessions daily, his father says.
Li Shing-lam's 13th prayer letter mentioned that Mo, 28, had a fever while waiting for the removal of the tracheostomy tube.
"His physical condition returned to stable after four days," the father said. Now that the tube has been removed, the hole will heal within a week, Li added.
"But Mo will need to be more careful with his diet during this period," said Li and he hoped his son's swallowing reflex can fully recover, so that he can try to eat a wide range of food items.
And Mo is still undergoing at least five to six intensive treatments daily.
Li said he burst into tears when he saw his son sleeping during a recent visit and was reminded of the proverb "one person's injury and illness, a whole family in pain." Because he had lost a lot of weight worrying about Mo, Li said his own friends and students could hardly recognize him.
Last Wednesday, October 12, was Mo's birthday, he said, and medical staff brought him a cake to celebrate and encourage him to continue working toward full recovery. Mo thanked medical staff for their care.
Li said that he had twice visited Still House, a boutique in Causeway Bay, where a week-long event was held to celebrate his son's birthday.
He thanked the supporters who queued up for several hours to leave words of encouragement. "We could not help but cry when people send us words of encouragement," Li said.
It has been nearly three months since a giant screen fell on the stage during boy band Mirror's concert at Hong Kong Coliseum, critically injuring Mo, but the authorities have yet to announce the result of the investigation.
