Hong Kong to brace for chilly weather next week as temperatures plummet
The Hong Kong Observatory has reminded the public that the minimum temperature will drop below 20 degrees Celsius again next Monday.
The drop in temperature will be brought about by a cold front that will move across the coast of southern China on Sunday. Temperatures will fall quite dramatically, accompanied by patches of rain.
Under the influence of the associated northeast monsoon, it will be windy over the region early next week and cool in the mornings and at night.
On Sunday, the temperature will range from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, with mainly cloudy skies and a few rain patches. Temperatures will drop in the evening.
Next Monday will be cool in the morning and at night with temperatures ranging from 17 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius.
According to the Automatic Regional Weather Forecast, the temperature at Ta Kwu Ling in the northern part of the New Territories is set to be only 15 degrees Celsius at 7 am next Monday.
At the same time, the temperature at Sheung Shui, Lau Fau Shan, Shek Kong, Tuen Mun, Tsing Yi, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O was forecast to be only 16 degrees celsius, while the rest of Hong Kong ranges from 17 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius.
At 5am next Tuesday, the temperature in Ta Kwu Ling, Lau Fau Shan, Shek Kong and Tai Po will be 15 degrees Celsius, and range from 16 to 18 degrees celsius over the rest of Hong Kong.
