Hong Kong students boycott classes for second week
Hong Kong police said over 150 people have been arrested after the latest weekend of protests. Addressing the media, they said the protests are getting more radical and violent, and frontline police work is getting more risky. On Sept 9, Chief Executive Carrie Lam also made a rare public appearance at Central MTR Station to inspect the damage, after protesters vandalised the station. Meanwhile, Hong Kong students have continued a boycott of school for a second week, with many forming human chains across the city to express their support for the protest movement.
