Hong Kong sees more visitors with easing of travel policies
Over 48,000 inbound travelers arrived in Hong Kong in July this year, marking an increase of 17 percent compared to June, according to the figure released by Hong Kong Tourism Board.
According to a report by the Tourism Board, 48,048 heads were recorded in the last month, and the total number of visitors keeps seeing an increasing trend after May this year since the government granted non-Hong Kong residents to enter Hong Kong from overseas places from May 1.
“Meanwhile, the new adjustment of the government to reduce the quarantine period of inbound travelers also contributes to the revival of tourism,” pointed out the Tourism Board in the report.
“It is reasonable to believe that the new policies will benefit travelers for business, residence or visiting relatives, which could attract them to return to Hong Kong soon,” it noted.
Besides, the Tourism Board also claimed they will keep interacting with different government sectors to prepare sufficiently for normal function when reopening the borders.
