Hong Kong, Mainland China's Xinjiang to Launch First Direct Flight
A direct flight between Hong Kong and mainland China's Xinjiang will launch next week, in a move that is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two regions.
The flight, which will be operated by China Southern Airlines, will depart from Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and arrive at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport at 1:55 p.m. the same day.
The return flight will depart from Urumqi at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Hong Kong at 7:10 p.m.
The flight is expected to be popular with both business and leisure travelers.
Xinjiang is a major tourist destination, known for its natural beauty, historical sites, and ethnic diversity.
The region is also home to a number of important industries, including agriculture, mining, and manufacturing.
The launch of the direct flight is part of a broader effort by the Chinese government to boost economic development in Xinjiang.
The government has invested heavily in infrastructure in the region in recent years, and it has also relaxed some of the restrictions on travel and trade.
The direct flight is a positive development for both Hong Kong and Xinjiang. It will make it easier for people to travel between the two regions, and it will help to boost economic activity.
The flight is also a sign of the growing economic and political ties between Hong Kong and mainland China.
