Hong Kong leader open to using mainland-made transit link to revive monorail plan
Lawmakers take test ride of Shenzhen-based BYD’s Skyshuttle, with Hong Kong leader saying he is open to reviewing mass transit system in Kowloon East.
Hong Kong’s leader is open to reviewing the use of a mainland Chinese-made mass transit system to revive a mothballed monorail project in Kowloon East, he has said, after lawmakers raised the idea during a tour of the Greater Bay Area.
The legislators made the suggestion on Saturday after visiting the headquarters of Shenzhen-based electric vehicle maker BYD Auto as part of the second day of a trip to the bay area.
