Hong Kong Gears Up for 9th Biennial Hong Kong Games in 2024
The Hong Kong Games (HKG) is a biennial major sports event in Hong Kong that promotes sportsmanship and strengthens the public's sense of belonging through various sports competitions and community participation programs.
The 9th HKG will take place from April 21 to June 9, 2024, and feature eight sports events: athletics, badminton, futsal, swimming, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball, as well as a 3-on-3 basketball competition.
The event is organized by the Sports Commission and coordinated by the Community Sports Committee, in collaboration with the Home Affairs Department, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and relevant national sports associations.
The district athlete selection will take place from July to January 2023, and the public can participate in various programs such as the Star-studded Classroom, Sports Seminar, Vitality Run, and Cheering Team Competition.
