Eric Chan, the No. 2 official in Hong Kong, has warned that educational courses promoted as good for securing jobs after emigration could be deregistered due to concerns raised by the Audit Commission that some of these courses were not in line with the aims of the Continuing Education Fund.
These courses were government-subsidized.
The chief secretary has asked course providers to submit their promotional materials for review.
This move follows the Audit Commission's concerns that some courses eligible for student subsidies were promoted as good for securing jobs abroad.
