HKU dentistry program ranks third in the world; two other subjects also in top 10
The dentistry program offered by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) ranks third in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023, while two other programs of the university are also in the top 10 of their own category.
Although the dentistry program slips from second place in 2022 to third, it remains Asia’s best dentistry subject.
HKU also ranks eighth in the subject of Education & Training, and tenth in the subject of Social Policy and Administration.
The rankings are based on an independent comparative analysis of over 15,700 individual university programs taken by students at 1,594 universities in 93 countries and territories.
A total of 178 programs offered by Hong Kong institutions are included in the best 100 rankings, taking up 56 percent of all programs available in the city.
Nine programs are sitting between 12th place and 20th place, including HKU’s linguistics program; performing arts program by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA); nursing program by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); and architecture program by the Polytechnic University.
