The examination fees for the 2023 HKDSE examination were raised by around two percent, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) announced on Friday.
With an increase of HK$14 to the fee for language subjects, and HK$9 for other subjects, the latest fee for these examinations is HK$697 and HK$466 respectively.
In other words, a 2023 DSE school candidate taking six subjects, including two language subjects and four other subjects, will have to pay a total amount of HK$3,258 for the examination.
However, day school candidates will not be affected as the government had earlier announced in the Budget it would set aside HK$149m to waive the examination fee for school candidates sitting for the 2023 HKDSE examination.
Meanwhile, the application fee for private candidates will also see a HK$10 increase to HK$534.
