HK to gather public views on enhancing Statutory Minimum Wage review mechanism
The Minimum Wage Commission on Tuesday launched a four-week first-stage consultation to invite views from the public on enhancing the review mechanism of the Statutory Minimum Wage.
On completion of the first-stage consultation, the commission will analyze and collate the views received towards conducting the second-stage consultation. The relevant arrangements will be announced in due course.
The Chief Executive announced in his 2022 Policy Address that the commission would be invited to study how to enhance the review mechanism, including the review cycle, how to improve efficiency, balancing a host of factors such as the minimum wage level and sustained economic development, to make proposals to the Government.
The commission said it is pressing ahead with the study and would like to listen to views from the public on enhancing the review mechanism.
