HK Professional Teachers' Union stops selling past teaching materials online
Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union said it has stopped selling teaching materials made in the past on its website.
The union's book shop that operated independently in its Mong Kok clubhouse was closed in late-June, it said. The site will be transformed into a service counter for its members and offices staffers.
The union said it will continued to promote Chinese history, the country's development and culture. A work group is now preparing new books on Chinese history and culture as well, after the union said it will put its priority on education profession and rights of teachers
The union will let teachers have a look at these new books first before selling them at its clubhouse. The work group will also organize other activities on Chinese history and culture, it said.
The Education Bureau earlier cut all ties with the union, saying it is too “political.” State-run media also attacked the union and said it must be eliminated.
