Hong Kong is mulling to extend its “vaccine bubble” arrangement to live concerts and performances, banning unvaccinated audiences and performers from entering the event venues.
Speaking at a radio program on Thursday, Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association advisor Tse Ka-ho, said the government is looking to mandate
Covid vaccination for people attending concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
Tse said he believed the performing industry would welcome the decision, adding that some overseas concerts also require audiences to get vaccinated.
“It should not be a big problem to authenticate the audiences’ vaccination record,” he said.
However, Tse called on the government to provide a grace period when rolling out the arrangement, allowing those who are unvaccinated to still attend the concerts if they bought their tickets before the mandate.
Those with valid medical reasons should also be exempted from the jab mandate, he said.
