Global Sources to kickstart first full-scale trade show since easing of Covid restrictions

Global Sources’ flagship trade show will return to Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Expo from April 11 to 21 this year, meeting the rebounding demand from sourcing professionals worldwide by connecting them in the field of electronics, smart home, lifestyle and fashion.

As a major platform for international B2B sourcing and trade facilitation, Global Sources’ exhibitions have been held for 20 years and hailed as the premium sourcing shows for businesses to tap into the myriad opportunities in global trade. Marking the 20th anniversary of Global Sources Exhibitions, the 2023 event is set to bring together more than 60,000 professional buyers from 150 countries and regions worldwide. With more than 8,000 booths across all ten exhibition halls at AsiaWorld-Expo, over 4,000 reputable suppliers will gather and showcase more than 300,000 innovative products, frontier technologies and applications of the latest design concepts, helping buyers seize the surging business opportunities as quarantine-free travel resumes between Hong Kong and the rest of the world.

As the first stop of the celebration tour, Global Sources Hong Kong shows – world-class professional events certified by the UFI – will host a 20th-anniversary thank-you cocktail party and supplier awards ceremony to recognize outstanding performance in exploring overseas markets.

Innovations on display

Global Sources 2023 Exhibitions in Hong Kong will take place in two phases. Held from April 11 to 14, Phase I includes the Consumer Electronics show, where buyers get to discover the next generation of electronics and on-trend designs – such as computer peripherals, e-sports products, car electronics, outdoor electronics, audio-visual products and electronic components.

This show not only features a large number of brands and products, it also brings together businesses from around the world by promoting communication and close cooperation between international buyers and suppliers. A new audio products pavilion housing nearly 500 booths will present speakers, headphones, home audio products, and other accessories for visitors to experience first-hand. The Next-Gen Components Zone, meanwhile, features the latest electronic components; there is also a personal transporter test drive area and outdoor electronics experience zone to immerse buyers in the latest technologies.

A multitude of industries

Phase II, from April 18 to 21, will encompass a number of sectors. First up, the Mobile Electronics show will bring together more than 1,200 leading manufacturers, brand owners, and design companies at over 2,400 booths – turning the focus to branding, smart technology and innovative design elements, and covering mobile devices, smart wearables, AR/VR, portable speakers, etc.

Meanwhile, the Smart Home & Appliances show – a specialized event for manufacturers, solution providers, design companies, and system integrators from the Greater China region – will display an extensive range of smart home products, security products, home electronics, and whole-house smart solutions. What’s more, the show will feature a dedicated smart home experience zone, namely the AIOT Park, displaying smart home, connected devices, IoT, and AR/VR products and applications from mobile carriers and leading IoT solution companies.

Synergizing with the Smart Home & Appliances theme is the Home & Kitchen show. At this one-stop sourcing destination for design-led and eco-friendly home and kitchen products, visitors will find a range of home décor, household cleaning supplies, tableware, and kitchenware – all of which cater to global buyers’ pursuit of quality living.

From sports and leisure, everyday apparel, to tech gifts and travel gadgets, this year’s Lifestyle x Fashion show will focus on high-quality, custom-made products made from sustainable manufacturing and technologies. Look forward to the newly added Pet Products section featuring major categories such as health and wellness, grooming and cleaning supplies, toys, clothing and accessories.

Catering to overseas buyers

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Global Sources has prepared 15,000 Hong Kong Goodies vouchers for buyers from outside of Hong Kong, offering them a complimentary drink (worth over HK$100) of their choice at more than 100 bars, restaurants, and hotels in the city.

As well as the physical shows, this year’s expo will also feature an online exhibition to offer live-streaming services for overseas buyers unable to attend the event in person. There, they will be able to virtually exchange name cards.
