Caterer Gingko House will continue offering free meals to those in need during Lunar New Year.
"The team distributing free meals never rest because food is needed every day," it posted on its
Facebook page on Monday. "We are tired and busy, but never give up."
Poor people felt that Lunar New Year is meaningless because the only thing left for them is sadness, it wrote.
"There are people who are struggling with food and clothing, living lives that are beyond the imagination of the majority.”
It continued that the Lunar New Year meal is not just about the food, but also about the people and stories behind it.
"Ginkgo House is now distributing 1,000 lunchboxes in eight districts every day and get to know about the stories behind the recipients. Each of them tells the story of how unpredictable life is for grassroot people."
It added that the restaurant will try to make the free meals smell and taste good, so that those in need won't feel sad for this Lunar New Year.
