Giant Rubber Ducks Installed in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour as Part of Art Installation
Two 18-meter tall rubber ducks have been installed in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour as part of an art installation by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.
The ducks, which represent "double the fun and happiness," will be on display for two weeks.
The artist hopes the ducks will bring joy to the city, which has suffered from the pandemic, wars, and political issues.
The curator of the installation, AllRightsReserved, says the ducks represent the symmetrical Chinese characters "xi" for happiness and "peng" for friends.
The installation began a world tour in 2007 and has stopped in harbors around the world.
Some residents of Hong Kong have expressed support for more art installations in the city.
