Gangster fight sees private car surrounded by over 50 thugs
A gangster fight on Thursday that sent shockwaves to residents in Tsim Sha Tsui saw over 50 thugs surrounded a white vehicle on Observatory Road and kept hitting the car with hard objects.
The fight took place around 4am yesterday (Thursday). According to sources, gangsters from triad Sun Yee On, including its leader “Kai Kang”, headed to a bar located on the third floor of a building on Observatory Road, which is controlled by rival triad Wo Shing Wo.
There were arguments between “Kai Kang” and “Fat Fung”, leader of Wo Shing Wo, and the arguments soon evolved into clashes. The two leaders “blew the whistle” and called for reinforcement respectively, moving the fight at the bar onto the streets in Tsim Sha Tsui.
According to three videos that went viral on the internet, about 50 thugs or more surrounded a white private car and some of them were hitting the car with hard objects.
The car suddenly reversed and made its escape as it turned into Chatham Road South along Observatory Road.
The footage was filmed by residents in the area as they became alerted by the noise at the scene.
It was understood that senior management of police was furious about the incident and the case is now handled by the Yau Tsim district anti-triad unit, which will soon mount operations against the two triads.
