Hong Kong Society of Herpetology Foundation Warns Against Releasing Animals into Wild on Buddha's Birthday
The Hong Kong charity, Hong Kong Society of Herpetology Foundation, warns that releasing animals into the wild on Buddha's Birthday causes more harm than good.
They claim that many animals released into the wild will die due to their inability to adapt to the new environment.
Additionally, some animals that do adapt could threaten local species or biodiversity, according to a committee member Victor Wong.
