Fraud-charged Mirror concert contractors released on bail
Three contractors involved in the tragic screen collapse at boyband Mirror’s concert in July 2022 and charged with conspiracy to defraud were released on bail after appearing at the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Thursday.
The three people from Engineering Impact Limited, the principal contractor for the concert, include 41-year-old project manager Ng, 60-year-old technical coordinator Lam, and 48-year-old project manager Leung. They were each charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud and one count of fraud as an alternative charge.
A plea has not been entered and the magistrate has adjourned the case to March 30 pending prosecution to prepare documents for transferring the case to the District Court.
The court has heard there will be seven prosecution witnesses to testify in the case, all of whom are colleagues of the accused.
The three were each granted a HK$10,000 cash bail and ordered to live at their home address and report to the police station every Monday. They were also ordered to surrender all travel documents and not allowed to leave the city.
