Four assaulted in Sham Shui Po after flirting goes south
Four people, including three young women having late dinner in Sham Shui Po, were assaulted by 10 others in the early hours on Saturday as a row broke out between the two sides after their flirting led to conflict.
It was understood that the trio in their early 20s were having late dinner with a 44-year-old man on Shek Kip Mei Street when they were approached by 10 men and women, some of whom flirted with the trio but failed and then started the attack.
Two of the women sustained injuries to their mouths, while another had her head injured. The man who attempted to protect the trio was knifed, and the wound on his right hand bled profusely.
The 10 swiftly fled the scene following the attack.
The injured man was located by police on Yu Chau Street between Shek Kip Mei Street and Nam Cheong Street and was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital. On the other hand, the three women were found on Shek Kip Mei Street and admitted to Caritas Medical Centre.
Lives sources added the victims, and the attackers were all Vietnamese.
Police listed the case as an assault occasioning actual bodily harm after preliminary investigation, and the case is now handled by the Sham Shui Po district crime investigation team.
