Former political assistant to home affairs chief to host RTHK program
Former political assistant to the Secretary for Home Affairs, Jade Lai Wing-yu, who departed from the government in January, will take up the job as a presenter at the Radio Television Hong Kong Radio Two.
The Advisory Committee on Post-office Employment for Former Chief Executives and Politically Appointed Officials announced today the approval for Lai to take up three other jobs after her departure from the government.
According to the committee, apart from the RTHK position, Lai will work on a book about Chinese martial arts with the International Guoshu Association. She will also work as a project consultant at the Music Children Foundation.
Lai, 44, was among 12 under secretaries and 14 political assistants to take an oath of allegiance to the Basic Law and the SAR before Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor in December last year.
A month later, she tendered her resignation due to family reasons.
She later explained that her resignation was due to her moving to Singapore with her husband - who is a native there, and the need to take care of her children.
