Five of the 47 democracy activists seek bail at the High Court
At least five of the 47 democracy activists charged under the Beijing-imposed national security law will seek bail again at the High Court, according to the Judiciary.
The five include district councilor Andy Chui Chi-kin and Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit, chairperson of the Sai Kung District Council Ben Chung Kam-lun, and former lawmakers Claudia Mo Man-ching and Leung Kwok-hung “Long Hair.”
Their bail hearings have been scheduled on this Friday, March 29 and March 31 respectively.
Chui will be the first to appear in court this Friday. His hearing will be handled by national security designated judge Esther Toh Lye-ping.
According to sources, Ventus Lau Wing-hong will also seek bail at the High Court.
