Five arrested and 123 persons fined at triad dinner party
Five men including the operator of a Chinese teahouse in Lok Fu were arrested, after police busted a triad Mid-Autumn Festival dinner party last night.
Police also issued a fixed penalty ticket of HK$5,000 to each of the 123 persons there for violating the group gathering cap, meaning they will have to pay a total of HK$615,000.
The restaurant is located on Heng Lam Street in Lok Fu. Officers received information about the dinner party and mounted an operation around 8.30pm last night. They cordoned off the area and raided the restaurant, finding the large crowd having their Mid-Autumn Festival party there.
After primary investigation, officers arrested the 49-year-old restaurant manager. They also found four wanted persons, aged from 32 to 40. Three failed to pay their traffic penalty on time, while one was involved in a case related to theft and deception.
They were all remanded for questioning.
Police also towed seven vehicles that were parked nearby and jammed the traffic, issuing 23 more fixed penalty tickets.
