The Virtual Open Day aims to enhance public understanding of the inner workings of the exams, and to provide a diversified virtual experience through guided tours, videos and presentations.
Apart from showing how the answer scripts collected from the HKDSE are handled, the Open Day also unveils the marking of scripts by markers at the assessment centers.
Chairman of the HKEAA Samuel Yung Wing-ki said “Throughout the years, the HKDSE has been an important credential for senior secondary students furthering their studies locally or overseas, or pursuing a career.”
“In the past decade, about 645,000 candidates sat the examination, and the number of scripts marked was close to 9,000,000.”
By now, 127 Mainland institutions admit Hong Kong students on the basis of HKDSE results, and about 140 institutions in Taiwan recognize the HKDSE.
The number of overseas institutions accepting the HKDSE qualification for admission to their undergraduate programmes rose from about 100 in the first cohort to about 300 now.
