Firefighters rescue female commuter whose leg gets stuck in a gap
Firefighters on Friday rescued a 17-year-old girl who had her left leg stuck in a gap between the train and the platform at Nam Cheong Station.
The incident took place around 4.30pm on Friday at platform no.1 at the station. The captain of the Tuen Ma Line train heading to Tuen Mun was informed by other passengers that a woman accidentally stepped into the gap between train and the platform and had her left leg stuck there.
Staffers of the station reached the scene and kept the woman company before police and firefighters arrived to the rescue.
The woman was then admitted to Caritas Medical Centre on an ambulance in a conscious state.
MTR later said train services of the Tuen Ma Line resumed at around 4.42pm.
MTR also said they are now trying to reach the young woman and wish her a speedy recovery.
