Figo Chan prosecuted after failing to provide information to police
Jailed pro-democracy activist Figo Chan Ho-wun was prosecuted by police on Friday, saying he didn't provide information about disbanded Civil Human Rights Front as requested.
Chan, the former convenor of the Front, was informed by police in jail, the post on his social media read.
He was charged with violating article 16 of the Societies Ordinance for failing to comply with a notice and to provide information as requested under the ordinance.
According to the ordinance, offender is liable on summary conviction to a HK$25,000 fine, unless he establishes to the satisfaction of the court that he has exercised due diligence and has failed to comply with the notice for reasons beyond his control.
