Fifteen including Starry Lee file nomination for LegCo election
Fifteen candidates have filed nomination forms for the LegCo election on Saturday as the nomination period began, including chairwoman of the largest pro-establishment party Starry Lee Wai-king.
Government released a statement this afternoon, saying that the returning officers have received the nomination forms from 15 candidates who plan to stand in the Legislative Council election on December 19.
The nomination period will run from today until November 12.
Lee from Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) will run in the Kowloon Central geographical constituency, as well as Wong Tai Sin district councilor Mandy Tam Heung-man.
Bill Tang Ka-piu from Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (HKFTU) will run in the Kowloon East constituency. His party member Stanley Ng Chau-pei will run in the Hong Kong Island East constituency on the other hand.
Islands district councilor Fong Lung-fei will run in the Hong Kong Island West constituency.
Lo Wai-kwok and Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung from Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA) will run in the Engineering and Commercial (First) functional constituencies respectively.
Tony Yau Wai-kwong, managing director of China Overseas Property will run in the Commercial (Third) constituency, while William So Wai-leung, chief manager of Ming Pao Publications will run in the Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication constituency.
Dorothy Tse Hiu-hung, an associate professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, will run in the deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and representatives of relevant national organizations functional constituency.
Five candidates also filed nomination forms for the Election Committee constituency, including Nixie Lam Lam from DAB. The other four are independent candidates Allan Zeman, Chan Yuet-ming, Simon Lee Hoey, Stephen Wong Yuen-shan.
