Covid case sends kindergarten students and teachers into quarantine

Teachers and students of a Tuen Mun kindergarten were quarantined on Friday after a student there tested positive for the coronavirus.
The school - Shun Tak Fraternal Association Tuen Mun Leung Lee Sau Yu Kindergarten had earlier suspended classes on Tuesday after the parent of a kid there tested positive for the coronavirus. It is expected to resume classes next Monday (Jan 10).

The kindergarten today said one of their students in class 2A contracted the coronavirus. All of the student’s classmates and teachers will be required to undergo 21 days of quarantine.

According to sources, the student is the daughter of a 42-year-old male surveyor who was confirmed with Covid-19 on Wednesday.

He was found to have contracted the virus at a restaurant in Tin Hau. His source of infection traced back to a 28-year-old Cathay Pacific flight attendant who returned to the city from Los Angeles on December 27 carrying the highly transmissible Omicron variant.

The school also added today that classes will be suspended until further notice.
