The government will on Wednesday expand walk-in vaccination services to cover everyone eligible for the jab.
In a statement, authorities said from Wednesday 21 Community Vaccination Centres will distribute same-day tickets to all eligible persons daily from 7.45am on a first-come, first-served basis in September and October.
Starting from November, the same-day tickets will be available for distribution 15 minutes before the opening hours of the Centres.
Those aged 12 to 17 can only get the
BioNTech vaccine while those aged 18 or above can opt for either the
BioNTech jab or the Sinovac jab.
A government spokesman said the same-day ticket arrangement has been operating smoothly since its launch on July 29.
“After evaluating the actual situation, we have decided to extend the arrangement to cover all eligible persons for receiving vaccinations to further enable members of the public to get vaccinated," the spokesman added.
Authorities also reminded people that the center at the Hong Kong Central Library will be relocated to Java Road Sports Centre on October 1, while the two centers at Tai Po Hui Sports Centre and Tsuen King Circuit Sports Centre will cease distribution of same-day tickets from October 1.
