The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department on Thursday urged the public to stop using six models of Panasonic and KDK dehumidifiers due to safety concerns.
The six models of dehumidifiers concerned are:
Panasonic - F-YZB10X
Panasonic - F-YHC12X
Panasonic - F-YHE15X
KDK – GZB10X
KDK – GHC12X

According to the information provided by the supplier, in very rare circumstances, when foreign chemical compounds are absorbed in the desiccant rotor and when fan speed decreases abnormally, the dehumidifiers may have a safety risk of ignition around the rotor.
Members of the public with the affected models can contact Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. to arrange for a free on-site replacement.
The public can visit the
website of Shun Hing Electronic Trading Co., Ltd. or call the company's service hotline at 2406 5733 (from 9 am to 6 pm, Mondays to Fridays) to confirm whether their dehumidifiers are affected and arrange a free on-site replacement.
