Drivers warned of multiple tickets for illegal parking on Mid-Autumn Festival
Drivers who illegally park their vehicles on Mid-Autumn Festival could be slapped with multiple tickets, police warned ahead of festivities.
Western District police has launched a four-day operation from today against illegal parking and other traffic offenses, including stopping or waiting at restricted zones. The operation will target black spots including Aberdeen Centre, Shum Wan Road and Kennedy Town.
Drivers are warned that police will take stringent action without giving any verbal warning. Multiple tickets could be issued for the same vehicle, and ones which seriously obstruct traffic or endanger other road users could be towed away.
As Ocean Park's Water World will open on September 21, the police are concerned about its impact on traffic. It will take corresponding enforcement action in the area.
The police reminded drivers not to park illegally outside the park nor stop and wait in restricted areas.
