Driver arrested for drink driving after three-car collision near Aberdeen Tunnel
A 25-year-old private car driver was arrested for drink driving following a three-car collision near Aberdeen Tunnel on Sunday morning.
Another 70-year-old driver suffered a back injury and was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment.
At 6.46am, the three vehicles were driving on three different lanes on Wong Chuk Hang Road, heading towards Aberdeen Tunnel.
The 25-year-old's vehicle hit another private car and a truck, before it rammed into road dividers and caught fire. The front of the car was seriously damaged.
After the police arrived the driver did a breath test, which indicated an alcohol level above the prescribed limit.
It was understood that an opened can of beer was found next to the driver's seat. The driver was detained pending investigation.
Apart from the truck driver, another 58-year-old driver of a private car was not injured and left on his own.
