Driver arrested at Lo Wu after ramming taxi into Yuen Long frozen food stall
Police arrested a man yesterday at Lo Wu for criminal damage concerning his fleeing after ramming a taxi into the metal gate of a frozen food stall in Yuen Long last Sunday (March 12).
The man drove a taxi onto the pedestrian path and crashed into the gate of a stall on Tung Lok Street at around 4 am. He then escaped via a sedan that came to pick him up.
Multiple papers with "A..I" written on them were scattered on the floor after the crash.
The police arrested the 36-year-old taxi driver, surnamed Ng, at Lo Wu yesterday on suspicion of criminal damage, unauthorized access to a car, and exercising a fake instrument.
He is currently remanded under police custody, and the motive for the case is being investigated.
