The daily Covid-19 rapid antigen test requirement for secondary school students will be scrapped starting from March, the Education Bureau said in a letter to all schools on Tuesday.
However, the requirement will stay for students of primary schools, kindergartens and special schools until March 15.
The bureau said it has been monitoring the development of the pandemic, listening to suggestions by health experts and contacting with schools in the city on adjustments of anti-
Covid measures.
The bureau also said it will update the Health Protection Measures for Schools and all schools must follow the health protocols stringently and keep the campus' environment clean at all time.
It stressed again that getting inoculated against
Covid is the most efficient to combat the
coronavirus as it lowers the chances of developing severe illnesses and risks of death. It called on schools and parents to arrange for kids to get the
vaccine shots as soon as possible.
