Customs seized smuggled electronic products worth about HK$1.95 million at Lok Ma Chau Control Point on Saturday.
During the anti-smuggling operation, officers intercepted an outbound goods vehicle declared as carrying building blocks toys and seized over 1,200 suspected smuggled goods, including tablet computers, digital cameras, wireless speakers, headphones and other electronic goods.
A 47-year-old male driver suspected to be connected with the case is assisting the investigation.
Under the Import and Export Ordinance, any person found guilty of importing or exporting unmanifested cargo is liable to a maximum fine of HK$2 million and imprisonment for seven years.
