Customs cracks two drug cases and seizes ketamine and cocaine worth HK$3.1 million
Two men were arrested after Customs detected two dangerous drug cases and seized about 3.6 kg of suspected ketamine, about 1kg of suspected cocaine and nearly 60 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
During an anti-narcotics operation conducted in Tin Shui Wai on Saturday, Customs officers intercepted a suspicious man and found about 1kg of suspected cocaine inside his backpack.
The 22-year-old man was arrested and later escorted to his home nearby for a search, where officers further seized 60g of suspected crack cocaine and a batch of drug manufacturing and packaging paraphernalia.
Separately, Customs on March 18 inspected an air consignment arriving in Hong Kong from Frankfurt of Germany via Dubai of the United Arab Emirates at Hong Kong International Airport.
Officers found suspected ketamine, weighing about 3.6kg in total, were concealed inside four paintings in the consignment. Customs later mounted a controlled delivery operation yesterday (Apr 1) and arrested a 29-year-old man suspected to be connected with the case in Fanling.
