Construction worker falls to his death in Tuen Mun
A construction worker suspectedly slipped and fell to his death in Tuen Mun this afternoon when working on the exterior wall of a building.
The incident took place at 1.08pm at Block 3 of Hanford Garden in Tuen Mun. The worker, 44, at that time was installing a truss-out bamboo scaffold on the exterior wall outside a flat located on the 12/F. He suspectedly slipped and fell.
A security guard found out and reported to police immediately. Officers and medics soon arrived but the man was later certified dead at the site. Officers are now investigating the cause of his death.
It was understood that today was the first day the man worked at that vacant flat. The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims has reached his family and will offer help to them.
The Labour Department is investigating the incident as well. Staff had been deployed to the scene upon receiving the report and is now looking into the cause of the incident.
