Citybus Takes Over New World First Bus Operations, Ending 25-Year Service
The last buses operated by New World First Bus (NWFB) have merged with Citybus, ending the 25-year service of the brand.
On Jul 1, a large number of citizens and bus zealots gathered at the Cheung Sha Wan bus terminus to bid farewell to the NWFB route 970X buses.
Passengers received souvenirs from the company and took photos of the double-decker buses with the old NWFB logo and wave design.
The last bus ride was around 1 am on Jul 1, and the buses returned to the Chong Fu Road depot in Chai Wan for a ceremony celebrating the start of Citybus's new franchise.
The first bus of the new operation was the overnight route N8P, departing from Siu Sai Wan (Island Resort) at 4 am.
