The Chinese national anthem is now available for download on the webpage of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau as the latest update came on Monday, about one-and-a-half months after the anthem blunder at the Ice Hockey World Championships in late February.
According to guidelines issued by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee last November, member associations are provided with links to download the anthem on the web pages of the Central Government or the bureau.
Yet, before Monday’s update, the download link on the bureau’s webpage would send visitors to a Central Government’s webpage in Chinese dedicated to the music scores, audio, and videos related to the national anthem.
If visitors click the “Eng” button in the top right corner of the page, they will be redirected to the home page in English, which displays English news about President Xi Jinping.
Visitors would then need to further enter the keyword and search for the national anthem, which remained challenging for those unfamiliar with the Chinese language.
Now, visitors will see a box named “National Anthem” in the center area of the bureau’s webpage; clicking into the box, visitors will see the zipped .mp3 files of the Instrumental and Original versions available for download.
The anthem can also be downloaded in “.mp4” or “.mov” formats. The music scores of the anthem are also displayed on the page as users scroll down, as well as the Chinese and English lyrics of the anthem.
