(Central Station) Woman jumps out of taxi to catch a bus amid heavy traffic
How far would you go to catch a bus? A woman in Mong Kok endangered her life when she jumped out of a taxi and ran down the middle of the road in the hope of catching a bus that had already left the bus stop.
Dashcam footage that captured the woman doing her dangerous stunt last Friday afternoon (Nov 26) has circulated online.
According to the video, a taxi pulled over by Fife Street in Mong Kok. Before the cab came to a complete halt, the woman quickly opened the door and ran onto the pavement, almost tripping and falling to the ground.
She made a slight detour to get around the taxi and headed straight towards a route 67X bus which had stopped in the middle of the road, pounding on the bus door and ignoring other vehicles driving past her.
The video then ended without showing whether the bus driver opened the door to the woman.
Netizens were surprised by the woman who risked her life only to catch a bus. One asked, “Is chasing a bus more important than life to that woman?”
Another suggested that the woman had probably left something important on the bus, which may explain why she was in such a hurry.
According to the Public Bus Services Regulations, the bus driver must stop at every bus stop which bears an indication.
