Chinese astronauts at the orbiting Tiangong space station carried out physics experiments in a 'lecture from space” joined by Hong Kong students on Thursday afternoon.
Three astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, from the Shenzhou XIII mission, interacted with students from across the nation – including 300 students from some 10 schools in Hong Kong -- during a 60-minute lecture broadcasted live.
The space crew did demonstrations of experiments, showing interesting physical phenomena in space such as "disappearing buoyancy" and “liquid’s surface tension” under zero gravity.
Through the experiments, the astronauts explain to students why buoyancy disappears in zero gravity and how liquid’s surface tension changes when in space.
Viewers were also introduced to how the astronauts live and work inside the space station during the "Tiangong Class".
