Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor met representatives of the Hong Kong Private Hospitals Association on Tuesday night to discuss how private hospitals can support the fight against fighting the pandemic, according to sources.
It is expected that private hospitals will admit more non-
Covid cases, so that public hospitals can focus on treating
Covid-19 patients.
Earlier, Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng called upon private hospitals to join the fight against the pandemic, instead of letting public hospitals shoulder the burden alone.
Matilda International Hospital on Tuesday announced that they will offer general out-patient services to
Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms, providing them with basic medical treatment and advice. However, hospitalization service is not available to those with more severe symptoms.
Patients must make bookings by dialing 2849 1500 and undergo rapid antigen testing upon their arrival.
Apart from Matilda Hospital, four other private hospitals including Hong Kong Adventist Hospital in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital in Happy Valley, CUHK Medical Centre and Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong are also offering out-patient services to
Covid-19 patients.
