Cabbie arrested for sexual assault of German passenger
A 50-year-old cab driver was arrested after he allegedly molested a 25-year-old German passenger he picked up at Lan Kwai Fong in Central.
The driver was arrested in Tai Tong, Yuen Long after the passenger accused him of sexually assaulting her on Caine Road in Central in the early hours on Monday.
The woman hailed a taxi at Lan Kwai Fong. The cab stopped at the junction of Caine Road and Aberdeen Street in Central, after which the driver dragged her out of the car and inserted his finger into her body, she accused.
After the taxi drove away, the woman sat on the roadside and called the police. Officers arrived at 3.51am.
She was not injured and was taken to Queen Mary Hospital for a checkup.
The police reviewed the CCTV and identified the cab driver. They later arrested the man at Tai Tong.
After his arrest, the driver denied the sexual assault and said he dragged the woman out since she didn't tell him the destination of the trip and refused to pay.
