The bus captain was caught doing so by other drivers on the road and the dashcam video which captured that moment soon went viral online.

The incident took place around 7am on Tuesday on Po Lam Road near Po Tat Estate. According to the footage, the route 290X bus was originally following the traffic flow. Yet it crossed the double white lines and cut into opposite traffic in order to overtake the vehicles in front of it.

Police on Friday arrested the bus captain for dangerous driving, with the assistance provided by KMB.

Officers estimated that the bus had been traveling against the traffic flow for about 90 meters and added it was lucky that no traffic incident took place that time.

They pointed out that there were about 100 passengers onboard and that bus captain has operated this route for around three years.

KMB on the other hand said that bus captain breached the safety guidelines and had been fired after internal investigation, adding that dangerous driving will never be tolerated.
