Following the announcement of their world tour “Born Pink” earlier this month, K-pop girl group Blackpink has shared the dates for their upcoming tour, including making a Hong Kong stop in January.
The K-pop sensation’s performance is likely to be the city’s first big international pop act since the
Covid pandemic began in the spring of 2020 and canceled a number of high-profile music events.
The global run will see them perform their forthcoming sophomore album “Born Pink,” slated for release this September.
The world tour - the largest ever planned by a K-pop girl group, will kick off on October 15 in Seoul, South Korea, and continue into 2023 with concerts in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
The quartet will perform in Hong Kong on January 13 and 14 - three years since they last held a solo concert in the city in January 2019 as part of their In Your Area world tour.
While the last stop for the tour is listed as Auckland, New Zealand, on June 21, the announcement advertises that “more” is to come, so additional shows may be added to the “Born Pink” roster for summer 2023.
Venues for the world tour – a total of 36 shows in more than 25 cities – have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Blackpink has shared that it will be coming out with a pre-release single, “Pink Venom,” from their album “Born Pink,” which is due out on August 19.
