Biker stuck in between the wheels and dragged by truck dies
A 66-year-old biker died in a fatal traffic incident on Tuesday afternoon. He and his motorcycle were stuck in between the wheels of a truck after a crash and were dragged for meters on the road.
The incident took place at 2.26pm on Lai Chi Kok Bridge in Mei Foo. The biker was heading to Tsuen Wan on Kwai Chung Road and collided with the truck when he reached the bridge.
The man and his motorcycle were then stuck in between the wheels of the truck, which kept moving for around 30 meters before it stopped.
Following the stop the biker lied on the road in a comma. Medics later arrived and announced him deceased. They covered his body with a green tent as well.
The 36-year-old truck driver surnamed Chan was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
Due to the incident, part of the lanes of Kwai Chung Road flyover (Tsuen Wan bound) near Mei Foo Sun Chuen were closed to all traffic. Only remaining lane was still available to drivers and traffic was congested.
