Biker hospitalized after getting hit by sports car running in opposite direction
A 26-year-old biker was hospitalized after his bike was hit by a sports car driving in the opposite direction when traveling on Princess Margaret Road in Ho Man Tin early Saturday morning.
The crash occurred around 5.34 am today when the bike was heading towards Tsim Sha Tsui on Princess Margaret Road and drove on a bridge by Perth Street.
The biker attempted to dodge as he noticed the sports car – an orange Ford Mustang – running in the opposite direction of the driving lane but failed, and the two vehicles crashed into each other.
However, the Mustang didn’t pull over after the collision and fled the scene. Meanwhile, the biker named Yiu sustained injuries to his limbs and filed a police report. He was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
As officers went on patrol in the area, they later found the Mustang on Waterloo Road near St. John’s Lane – several hundred meters from where the crash occurred.
The car mounted the sidewalk; there were scratches on the car’s body, and the rear-view mirror on the left was damaged. The driver was long gone already as well.
A police investigation is ongoing, and officers are now searching for the driver of the Mustang.
