Beer flows as Oktoberfest kicks off in Central

It's finally the time to celebrate Oktoberfest, one of the three largest beer festivals in the world, with a sip of malt-flavored beer delivered to you by Central Market, Nina Hospitality and Jebsen Beverage.

The "Central Market x Nina Hospitality Oktoberfest 2022", which strategic partners are Sing Tao News Group, The Standard and East Week, will be held for two consecutive weeks, allowing beer fans to immerse in a mix of local Hong Kong and German culture under traditional Bauhaus architecture with Bavarian-inspired decorations.

The grand opening on Monday (Oct 17) was attended by Simon Manning, Managing Director of Nina Hospitality; Joseph Leung Luk-wang, Deputy Leasing Director of Chinachem Group; Frederic Noyere, Managing Director of Jebsen Beverage; Charmine Miao, General Manager of Leasing of Chinachem Group; Jennifer Kho, Director of Beer Division of Jebsen Beverage Co Ltd; Angie Chung, Deputy General Manager of Central Market, Chinachem Group; Cai Jin, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Sing Tao News Corp; and model Coco Chiang Yi.

Manning hopes the Oktoberfest can bring joy to Hongkongers and especially points to the game booths, which allow citizens to indulge in precious and quality family times.

Speaking of the strategic partnership between Sing Tao and Central Market, Cai said, "I hope the group's resources can diversify the wonder of the festivity. This partnership has been running successfully, and the public can expect another round of celebrations with the World Cup coming this November."

Joseph Leung said, "As we infuse decorations of the traditional German beer festival into the event, arrange live band performances and bring back the classic beer-themed game booths, we hope everyone can experience the Oktoberfest as if they are in Germany."

Angie Chung said, "We are glad to cooperate with Sing Tao News Corp, The Standard, East Week, and Bloom Visa for citizens and foreign tourists to learn more about the unique beer festival at Central Market."

The G/F of Central Market transformed into an Oktoberfest beer shed, and citizens can enjoy a sip of beer in the Biergarten decorated with blue over-white striped Bavarian flags hanging at G/F Dining Ground.

Oktoberfest brings together four well-known beer brands, including Löwenbräu – one of the most prestigious German beers; Blue Girl Beer – a Hong Kong No.1 leading premium beer with 100 years of heritage; Hoegaarden – a refreshing Belgian wheat beer with natural fruity flavor; and Stella Artois – a beer that savors over 600 years of European brewing craftsmanship.

There will also be five traditional Bavarian game booths hosting various beer-themed games, such as the Flip Cup Challenge, Beer Push Challenge, Ring Toss, Pinball Game, Hammer, and Punch Game.

Beer fans who are up to the challenge stand a chance to win a variety of gifts, including a Free 1-year Beer Pass, a Free Pint at Central Market, a Staycation Package at Nina Hotels, Central Market Shopping and Dining coupons, and more.

To spread even more festive spirit, a live band will perform party songs every Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 8pm.

The event will run from 5pm - 11pm from Sunday to Thursday; 5pm - 12am on Friday and Saturday from October 18 to 31. Ticketing is available at https://www.centralmarket.hk/en/event-calendar.
