At least 10 sent to hospital over fight at third runway construction site
At least 10 workers have been admitted to hospital after two men attacked them with knives on Friday afternoon at a construction site at the airport's third runway.
The attack occurred around 5pm. One of the workers sustained injury to his stomach and was sent to hospital in a coma, while another reportedly sustained stab wounds to his eyes.
Ambulances then arrived at the scene and rushed the injured workers to North Lantau Hospital.
It is understood that the two attackers are Nepali men and live sources said police have arrested at least five people involved in the fight.
The case was listed a fighting in public and officers from police's Airport District were spotted patrolling in the area, so were officers from the police's tactical unit.
It was understood that the workers were queuing for a ship that departed for Sam Shing, Tuen Mun at 5.35pm. The two Nepalis suspectedly cut the line and the local workers started an argument with the duo, which soon escalated into a flight.
The Nepali duo attempted to flee the scene, but they were intercepted by the security guards. They were then taken to the police and one of them, injured, was sent to a hospital.
