Supplies including 190 million rapid antigen test kits and 1.6 million pulse oximeters have arrived in Hong Kong from the mainland, and are being distributed to citizens in need.
In an announcement on Sunday, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau said that large quantities of medical supplies, including rapid antigen test (RAT) kits and Chinese medicines and personal protective equipment are arriving in Hong Kong with full support from the central government.
Apart from the test kits, personal protective equipment including over 350 million N95 masks, KN95 masks and surgical masks, and 41 million articles of protective equipment such as protective coveralls, gowns, goggles, and face shields, have also arrived.
The supplies are distributed to frontline personnel, those working in high-risk industries, as well as underprivileged groups, patients who have contracted
Covid-19, and individuals undergoing home quarantine through channels including government departments and other local organizations.
The government also expressed gratitude to Beijing for its donation of 600,000 anti-epidemic Chinese medicines, among which 170,000 boxes have been allocated to the Home Affairs Department for distribution.
Those taking Lianhua Qingwen capsules are advised to consult professionals, after a patient who took the medicine suffered from acute liver failure.
